ArtsWestchester, located in a beautiful old former bank building in White Plains, is currently hosting an exhibit of hats: all kinds of hats, from traditional African to historic, to uniform hats and high fashion.
Some are wearable, others are more decor than for everyday life; many are worn for special occasions, such as the New York City annual Easter parade.
Below is a series of photos.
For more information on hat-making and millinery, as well as a beautiful gallery of hats, visit the milliners’ guild website at millinersguild.org.
Ellen Christine’s hats, which grace the covers of publications such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, can be seen at http://ellenchristine.com/.
